Ananada Swaroopa Yoga (ASY)’s  Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) is too good an opportunity for any serious yoga practitioner to experience deeper dimensions of ‘body-and-mind’ complex amalgamation and to pave a strong foundation for seeking what is often termed as ‘the meaning of life’ with a clear focus on how to explore or where to start with.  It is a 5 months intensive training which require a good understanding of yoga than viewing it as an exercise programme for stretching and sweating out.a

Whilst the programme detoxifies the physical body, it unblocks the negative emotional energies, tears apart the falsehood of ego and poses a good deal of emotional and intellectual challenges.  Some students may find it hard to go through in the first  2 – 3 months. However, as required for any other challenging missions, yoga teacher training needs courage, patience and endurance which pay off the trainees from the 4 months onwards when they slowly settle down to accept the inner transformation.

The course requires strict adherence to daily home practise, reading, self-study (observation of one’s thoughts, expressions and actions); an open minded or non-judgmental approach to life. I would like, in other words, to put “approach yoga with an empty mind, so the truth of life will come from within you”, says Devadas.

AT QUICK GLANCE:

The programme provides opportunity for a willing student to experience the inner transformation and deeper dimensions of life.

YTTC at Ananda Swaroopa Yoga

Training at ASY a trainee into a strong candidate for a Yoga Teacher. The curriculum was developed taking care of all the important aspects that are required for the yoga education in the most effective way.

Although there are different names of yoga associated with certain individuals or order, as a matter of fact, there is only one Yoga.  Nevertheless, we have taken care to make the curriculum a perfect blend of Raja, Hatha, Tantra, Mantra, Prana and Kriya yogic techniques along with Ayurvedic Yogasanas, therapeutic applications of Mudras; and basic but powerful meditation techniques – all of which make the curriculum a firm base to start with as a primary Yoga Teacher.

Interestingly one’s objective of learning and practising yoga place the student in the corresponding place in life. If one assimilates into the yogic teachings, practises and imbibe them, such student will have greater possibilities to know life from within and live life full. All the great masters from the Vedic period or even beyond and after proved this truth.

ELIGIBILITY

Prior experience is beneficial

YTTC demands commitment, dedication and ‘being in the present’. It is a process of grinding all the projections of falsehood and inculcating a great deal of responsibility focusing on the life itself. Therefore, it is important for a Yoga Teacher Trainee ti0have at least 2 – 3 years of continuous practise and experience in yoga. This will enable the trainee to get accustomed to the teaching and its values. It may please note be noted that laziness, tardiness and disorganized way of life will be great hindrances to YTTC.

YTTC applicant should:

  • be ready to devote 2 hours of practising yoga at home which includes physical exercise and reading reference books and notes.
  • not plan holidays by cancelling the class
  • be ready to bring positive changes in his/her attitude towards life and interaction with other beings.

CURRICULUM

While practising yoga, a practitioner has to take into consideration many aspects of this healing science. To be more effective on vital, mental and psychic planes, Yoga is an application for every moment in life. One has to be able to observe and understand his or her nature as to what is he or she is full of and should be willing to transform. This is the first step towards learning Yoga.

There could be situations where a Yoga Teacher is expected to rise above the regular TTC curriculum. In a typical yoga class, there will be people with different capabilities, mindsets and expectations, who look for certain benefits, whether physical or spiritual. Therefore ASY’s  curriculum and the training manual were  developed giving exposure to diffent lineages and their teachings have been developed to equip a serious yoga teaher trainee.

Please note that ASY’s Hatha Yoga training follows purely traditional ancient Indian system.
